The Company was first established as Leisure Information Services (LIS) back in the 1980's. Originally created to service clients from Leisure Departments of Local Councils only. The expansion has been progressive throughout the years, never losing sight of the objectives for providing efficiency, effectiveness and creativity.

Business and Community Services (BCS) was established soon after to cater to the demands of Councils who had changed back from the ‘Poll Tax’ to the rates system and provides Statutory Council Tax Information to the rateable addresses throughout the Council area. The documents contain a useful year-planner to benefit the general public and are delivered free of charge to the Council by raising advertising revenue, thus benefiting the community, the local businesses and the Council.

Environmental Project Services (EPS) was the next formation specialising in the needs of the community’s environmental issues particularly since the advent of Agenda 21. Community Development Services (CDS) was set up soon afterwards to deal with the Government dictate of ‘Closer to the People’. CDS specialises in advising the electorate of whom the local councillors are standing in their area.

Area Health Information Services (AHIS) was established to deal with the Health Service to provide information to the General Public and complement the products already provided to the Public Service Sector.

Elletson Publishing House was formed when the Company expanded to its new premises in Lockwood Avenue, Poulton-le-Fylde as an umbrella or collective for the group as it is now known. The new building was formally the Lancashire County Council Education Offices. The renovation was time consuming but the property now benefits from a large two-story extension in keeping with the period design of the surrounding environment. These purpose built offices now house the main activities of the Group and are the Company Head Quarters. They benefit from the latest electronic and technological advances ensuring that projects are efficiently completed.
