For that reason, basic salaries tend to be higher than other medical sectors, while annual bonuses can be smaller.

While not impossible, it can be a difficult sector to penetrate without a scientific/medical background. A pharmaceutical sales role will require the confidence to sell products to laboratories in markets as dissimilar as life science, analytical, biotech or clinical.

Its easier to make the switch into Healthcare or Medical, but these tend to require more of a hard-sell approach.
