THE COMPANY
A specialist Signalling company with a £multimillion turnover and a history of growth and progression. They work alongside several of the largest rail infrastructure companies currently working in the UK and plan to work with more large and complex projects in the future.
THE ROLE
As Lead Buyer, you will be:
- Purchasing and sourcing mechanical, electronic and railway signalling components and services
- Building and developing mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and ensuring price and quality requirements are met
- Playing a key role in cost reduction/avoidance
- Processing requisitions and purchase orders
- Issue enquiries for quotations as well as material and plant ITTs
- Reviewing and analysing return bids
THE PERSON
The ideal Lead Buyer will have:
- A sound technical background in sourcing railway products in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced in working within a buying/procurement/purchasing role
- Working knowledge of SAP and COINS business systems
- Educated to ONC or HNC level or equivalent
- An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills
- A commercial aptitude
- Computer literate
