We are seeking a proved Business Development Manager to sell the full portfolio of security solutions and services to a range of customers and prospects in the business to business market within a designated region. To win & develop new regional key account contracts and develop large, regional customers for example local councils and utilities. To ensure the retention and growth of all accounts within a designated account portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve and exceed sales targets: install orders, recurring revenue orders and margin targets, as set by the Sales Manager.
- Manage personal activity to ensure targets are met and produce accurate sales forecast and reporting on business activity.
- Generate new business growth by targeting key regional accounts, competitor`s customers and specific market sectors.
- Proactively manage and develop multi level relationships within allocated existing key accounts to ensure we retain and grow them and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Develop account profiles and plans for each key account customer and prospect, to ensure a structured focus to maximise the potential whilst ensuring customer needs are continuously met.
- Take ownership of the customer in all aspects relating to the sales, installation and service delivery working with the installation and service teams to ensure satisfactory installation and handover to the service function.
- Handle tenders which have the potential to develop into key regional accounts and for all allocated key account contract renewals.
- Work with key contractors and other key channels to ensure we are given the opportunity to specify and tender for work within new and existing customers.
- Follow the approved company standards and procedures, completing all the necessary documentation and administration relating to all accounts and reports, as required by management.
- Ensure systems are being designed using standard products and pricing policies and specified in accordance with prevailing standards, codes of practice and costing structure.
- To work closely with colleagues within the relevant branches to ensure customers` needs are acted on promptly and efficiently.
- Establish good working relationships with colleagues from other UTC businesses to facilitate introductions to non CES / CFL customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally 3 years proven account management / new business development sales experience preferably in allied service industry.
- Possess aptitude in a highly technical field, with a capacity to understand technical products/specifications.
- Success in this role will require a consultative sales style with experience of dealing with larger value sales and providing customised solutions.
- Demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn, through training, coaching and real life experiences.-
Desirable:
- Possess knowledge and skills of information technology networks.
- A full understanding of the services and products offered by the Fire/Security Industry.
QUALITIES
- Must be presentable, articulate and literate, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Needs to be target driven and results focused with experience of structured sales techniques and a proven track record in sales within the business to business environment.
- Experience of dealing with large key accounts is important.
- A degree of technical knowledge of security systems is advantageous.
